AWRBA Tournament Rules of Play

TOURNAMENT RULES
2007 RAMP BOWLING TOURNAMENT

1. This tournament will be sanctioned with the AWBA. Entrants must be affiliate members of the AWBA. Further, entries will be restricted to those individuals that respond before the closing date as specified on the entry form.

2. All entries must be submitted to the tournament director's address on the entry form prior to the closing date of ______, so that the tournament officials can set the field for each division. Supervision of all phases of this tournament will be handled by the tournament officials.

3. The competition will be limited to singles competition in three divisions; Scratch, "A," and "B" divisions. The scratch champion will be determined by the total scratch pin fall; "A" and "B" champions will be determined by scratch pin fall plus the appropriate handicap based on the difference between 90% of 210 pins system.
(EX: 210-143 =63 pins x 0.90 =56 pin handicap per game.)

4. Each entrant must include a league sheet from his/her bowling center. Submitted averages must be based on a minimum of 12 games bowled within the last two year time frame. Entrants not possessing an accepted league average must bowl as scratch competitors.

5. The competition will consist of each competitor bowling eight (8) games at his/her home bowling center during the month of ______. Further, the scores submitted must be verified by an on site supervising official, either the league secretary or the center manager on duty at the time the games were bowled. Print outs of the scores and dates bowled must accompany all official score sheets.

5-A Bowlers must bowl at least 1 block per day of 2 games per block. All individual blocks must be bowled on the same pair of lanes, the first game being rolled on one lane to its completion. After completion of the first game, the bowler would move to the unused lane to complete the second game. If bowling with fellow competitors on the same lanes at the same time, the entrants would simply switch lanes after the first game has been completed.

5-B He/she may bowl up to two blocks per day with a break between blocks. Regardless, he/she must bowl a minimum of 2 complete games per day. Bowling for scores must be declared with the supervising official prior to conunencement of bowling.

5-C Succeeding blocks cannot be bowled on the same pair of lanes on the same day. In all cases the bowling order would follow the same process as used in the first block.

5-D Official tournament score sheets (included) must be submitted to the tournament director after the completion of all bowling blocks and postmarked no later than ______.
Exception: If the bowling center has limited lanes for use which might impact the intent of rule 5 or its sub-parts in any manner, the tournament director must be informed prior to any tournament games being bowled.

6. A chute or ramp bowler must provide his/her own handler, ball and chute. The handler will not be allowed to touch the ball once it has been set in place. The handler must face away from the pins while setting the ball in place. The bowler may instruct the handler on positioning the ball, but the handler is prohibited from instructing or advising the bowler while in the process of actually bowling.

7. Prize monies will be awarded at a ratio of 1 prize per each 5 entries. Plaques will be awarded to the champions and to the 2ndplace qualifiers in each divisional group or sub-groups.

8. All other sanctioned tournament rules of the AWBA not specified herein will govern this event. Any disputes or protests will be addressed by the tournament committee. The ruling of the tournament officials shall be final.
